A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of junk emails, but this issue can be rectified using anti-spam protection software. It’s also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward inbound messages to a 3rd-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you have a Linux hosting service with our company and you wish to activate the catch-all functionality for a specific e-mailbox that you have in your web hosting account, it’ll take literally only one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one single address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all messages sent to misspelled addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning note and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you remove the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The custom Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will permit you to set up a catch-all mailbox effortlessly even if you don’t have much email/web hosting experience. All you have to do to achieve that is click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each mailbox that you have set up using your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. Since you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will let you know if you have already set up another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you would like to use has email forwarding activated. If you reach the decision that you do not need the feature any longer, you can deactivate it by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
